Lamenting for and with Black America: On today’s episode, we discuss the first step for people who are asking “what can I do?” is to lament. In this conversation, Pai and Christina discuss the process of grief and lament as an interracial couple and how the arrival of their son who will be born later this summer affects this process. Join us for once again, a raw and vulnerable conversation as we grieve as a couple with a community of people mourning the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmad Arbery.

[File: Joshua Roberts/Reuters] Today, we invite you into we living room as we talk about the injustice of the death of Ahmaud Arbery. Typically, when we produce an episode, we think ahead. We plan. We bring notes. This time, we only brought our confusion, pain, and unfiltered thoughts. As you listen, we want to urge you to not just take our voices as your only resource. Listen to others because the black experience is not a monolith. Pai processes the world differently than someone else will, and we each carry our own perspective and lens as shaped by our culture.
It’s Christina, here, speaking specifically to the white allies and white peacemakers. I am exhausted and sickened by the actions of 2 white supremacists and the inaction of our justice system. White people, our inaction is killing our community.
